The Idea
When I was a collegian, my favorite room in the Theta Chi house was the kitchen, because it was the one place that we all came together to talk, laugh, share, eat and just be sisters. It was the most popular meeting place because of how it made us feel being together. We hope LiveSigmaKappa.com becomes a virtual meeting place for alumnae everywhere.
Phase One is what you see today – an alumnae blog. Come and read about how other sisters Live Sigma Kappa every day. Be inspired by them, learn from them, and share with others how you Live Sigma Kappa, as well. Visit as often as you like! We encourage you to read, comment, and engage other sisters. We’ve made it easy to stay connected by offering subscriptions by email or our RSS feed.
Phase Two will be a private community which will include discussion forums, an interactive calendar, fun downloads and a way to connect with sisters who share your interests. We are very excited about this new and innovative way for alumnae to stay connected to each other and Sigma Kappa.
The Inspiration
Although much has changed since our five founders first joined together to form Sigma Kappa 137 years ago, one thing has not changed: the need that we as women have to connect with other women for support, encouragement, and friendship. We may be separated by many miles – even by oceans! – but we are sisters who continue to live with our “voices strong” and our “hearts united”, just as our five founders did so many years ago.
Providing a way for alumnae to connect with sisters is what Live Sigma Kappa is all about. We made a lifetime commitment to each other when we became sisters. We hope that through Live Sigma Kappa, sisters will have the opportunity to be engaged with each other and with Sigma Kappa for a lifetime.
