Thirty Days ’till Texas
Now that all of the convention registration is finished and flights have been booked, it’s finally time to focus on and get excited about what the 85th national convention has in store for all of its attendees – especially our alumnae!
In only 30 short days, more than 700 Sigma Kappas will converge on The Woodlands, Texas to connect, reminisce, strengthen bonds, inspire leaders and build a legacy. The four-and-a-half day event will leave members inspired, motivated and ready to make a positive change in their own communities.
So, what are some of the planned events to look forward to?
- Meeting your national council – Put a face to a name as you mix and mingle with Sigma Kappa’s current and incoming national council members. Enjoy hearty hors d’oeuvres and casual conversation with other attendees while viewing the videos submitted to the YouTube “Share Your Sigma Kappa Values” contest.
- Initiation – What’s better than experience our ritual with more than 700 Sigma Kappa attendees? Nothing. Experience our timeless ritual on a scale that very few have an opportunity to see.
- Confirmed Conventionite – Join your sisters at our “Denim, Diamonds and Divas” themed event and let your creativity shine! Cheer on the confirmed conventionites, members who have attended three or more conventions, as they parade and start the celebration. This night of dancing and sisterhood will be unforgettable!
- Alumnae Showcase – Take advantage of this opportunity to discover new programming ideas, learn how to recruit and retain members, and build a successful public relations program within your alumane chapter. You’ll have the chance to meet the national alumnae team and discover the full experience of being a Sigma Kappa alumna.
- Shop Sigma Kappa – Take home a few Sigma Kappa souvenirs from any of our Shop Sigma Kappa vendors. As alumnae, we may not need an entire dresser of Sigma Kappa letter shirts, but a Pandora charm or a new badge may be in order. Take a look at some of our Shop Sigma Kappa vendors here.
These few events are only the tip of the iceberg for Sigma Kappa’s 85th national convention. You can find out what more is in store for you at the Sigma Kappa convention website.
Not attending convention? No problem.
Although we are sad that we won’t see you there, you can keep up-to-date with what’s going on at convention through the Sigma Kappa convention live blog, Twitter, and Facebook page.

National Convention was one of the most amazing experiences of my life! I went in 2008 and had such a wonderful time. Wishing safe travels to everyone attending this year!
