Remember in November when I promised we would have a virtual chapter room where we could talk about purple couches and delicious food?

The place where we could share a mug of coffee together while in our pjs? I know what you’re thinking…..it’s the elephant in the room…..so where’s the alumnae community you promised?
Great question! It’s still “coming soon” but I do have some updates!

Our goal has always been to offer something with substance that will allow alumnae to communicate, share, post, and visit with one another. The spring came and went, but still no community. We researched, surveyed, and investigated multiple ways in which we could offer alumnae a place to gather online. Unfortunately, we weren’t satisfied with the final product. It was turning more into a discussion board than a true community. In lieu of launching something on time that was just so-so, we opted to push back the launch date for something better. We were disappointed, but we quickly rebounded and went back to our drawing boards.

Then, something exciting happened!

The communication team began a complete overhaul of the Sorority’s website, www.sigmakappa.org, allowing our community to be incorporated into the new site. The Live Sigma Kappa community will be housed on the private side of the website. Each member will have her own profile and space to call her own. It will have groups, calendars, cool downloads, and areas for posting and sharing. Live Sigma Kappa will be a full member community that alumnae and collegians can share and support one another.

The original concept to “Live Sigma Kappa” is at the heart of this project, and we want to make sure we do it justice.

Live Sigma Kappa will still include the bloggers we all love plus much more! The new community is going to be larger and more extensive than we originally envisioned. It will also give us the opportunity to add more features and grow as the direction takes us. Incorporating the online community with the sorority’s new website opens up an entire new world of possibilities. I promise, it will be well worth the wait!

LiveSigmaKappa.com was supposed to be our virtual chapter room and that is exactly what it will be…this fall!

Can’t you just picture it now? I’ve told you countless times how much I miss the kitchen at the Theta Chi house in the fall. I’m so excited to meet you in our very own virtual chapter room. I will be there sipping my mug of coffee and sharing what I did over the summer with you. Get ready for endless pictures and stories from convention! I’ll have on my favorite Sigma Kappa sweatshirt, the one that’s super soft from wearing too much. I can’t wait to hear what you did over the summer.

Will you meet me there?

Sounds great! Always better to postpone and make a great product then take the cheap alternative
