I have made several wreaths lately. I love them.  I think they make great additions to your home. Here are two that I made that I absolutely fell in love with. Please don’t mind the puzzle in the background (It is now complete and off my kitchen table haha!)

I kind of sort of fell in love with burlap on Pinterest and then I quickly fell out of love with it when I started cutting it. It is so ITCHY! It makes cute accents as flowers, but… I don’t think  I will mess with it again until I start planning my wedding (which is not happening any time soon). I made these for my boyfriends mom and sister. They absolutely love them! I used scrap book paper to put on the letters, yarn to wrap around the wreath, and then ribbon and burlap to make the flowers. But what I want to show you is a different idea to a wreath.

My sister just bought a new house and I wanted to make her something to make her home hers. She had mentioned before that she wanted a wreath but I found something different to make.

What I did to create the burlap flowers is that I cut 8 circles out of the burlap. I then folded the circle in half and then in half again. I then pinned it to the number. Four folded circles go on the bottom and then four more folded circles are pinned on top. I then like to put a gem in the middle to cover the pins. I have been pinning my together because I can’t seem to find my hot glue gun. I think I left it at my mom’s house the last time I visited. I could always go and buy another glue gun…but I am doing fine with pinning things for now. Here is the finished product.

This would be a great addition to your home to make it feel more like a home than a house. Not to mention that if you don’t have your address on your mail box, painted on the curb, or on the wall next to your door this is a fun and pretty inexpensive way to make your home really stand out. What different kinds of wreaths or door decorations do you like to do? What have you done to bring crafts outside of the home?  As always, LISK

I love the house number! If I didn’t live in a condo, I would totally do it.
