National Raspberry Cake Day is on July 19. I was sent a link to what every day means, and this one stuck out to me. I have never had a raspberry cake before. I looked on Pinterest for ideas and recipes, but I never found any that really sang out to me. I was driving home from work today and I had the most fabulous idea. Why don’t I combine several things into one? I love graham cracker crust, cake and raspberries. Why don’t I put them all together?
What you will need:
- 1 box chocolate graham crackers
- chocolate cake mix (and ingredients that it calls for)
- fresh raspberries
- frosting – I chose the plain and you can mix in the flavor. I went with White Raspberry flavor.
I didn’t measure during this process. I just know how much I need to put in because I have made graham cracker crust so often. Mix graham cracker crumbs, melted butter and sugar. Pat into the bottom of the cake pan. You will then mix your cake batter like normal. Nothing special here. I then put one package of raspberries in the cake to bake. I think it will add a nice tart flavor to the chocolate. Once the cake is baked and cooled, frost the cake with the awesome frosting that you mixed together. Then add fresh raspberries on top and enjoy!
I know I said that I would have some ideas and crafts on here for my wedding, but I haven’t gotten anything done yet. I have all of the stuff for my table toppers and what not, but I haven’t had the time to put them together yet.
Unfortunately, I am unable to provide you with photos this time, but just know that it is VERY delicious. I was a little wary of all of the chocolate and raspberry flavor, but it was perfect. I can’t say that I won’t ever eat another cake again, but this is way up there. Do you have any homemade cake concoctions that you have put together?
